Job Description

About Scio
Scio Health Concierge helps clients navigate today's healthcare system with confidence while optimizing their long-term health.

We're not a medical practice. We complement traditional medical care with high-touch healthcare navigation and personalized health optimization, informed by the latest advances in longevity, precision health, functional medicine, and emerging technology.

We serve as a trusted partner for our clients. We simplify the complexities of healthcare, connect them with the right experts and resources, translate complex medical information into clear guidance, provide peace of mind, and empower them to make confident decisions every step of the way.

The Opportunity
You’ll serve as the clinical backbone for a small panel of clients while becoming the founder’s trusted right hand — combining medical expertise and health optimization to help shape our clients’ health and Scio’s future.

We're looking for someone who's just as comfortable explaining what a lab result means as they are helping a client build sustainable, lasting habits; someone who can move confidently between health optimization and navigating the traditional medical system. This role calls for strong medical training, functional medicine fluency, exceptional coaching skills, and a genuine gift for making people feel heard.

Scio is still in its early stages of growth, giving you a rare opportunity to help shape not just how we work, but how the company evolves. As our first major hire, you'll work closely with our founder, Meredith Meyer, MD, across nearly every part of the business, becoming a trusted right-hand as we build and scale Scio. You'll help refine our protocols, build client resources, pilot new programs, and create the systems that help us scale while preserving our personal touch. As the company grows, so will your opportunities to take on significant leadership responsibilities and become a key leader in Scio's future.

What You'll Do
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with a small panel of clients, serving as their ongoing partner in developing and refining their health optimization strategy
  • Coordinate care by preparing clients for appointments, joining visits (virtual or in person) when helpful, and communicating with their broader care team
  • Interpret labs (conventional and functional), microbiome and hormone testing, CGM data, wearables, and body composition testing to develop personalized, evidence-informed recommendations
  • Navigate acute and time-sensitive situations with confidence, operating comfortably within the traditional medical system — not just the wellness world
  • Educate clients on supplements, peptides, longevity therapies, and other emerging strategies, while coordinating with their healthcare providers when appropriate
  • Support clients in translating recommendations into lasting behavior change by identifying and addressing both the practical and personal barriers that stand in their way
  • Leverage technology and AI tools safely to synthesize medical records and literature, create client-facing summaries and educational resources, and continually identify new ways technology can enhance the client experience
  • Design the protocols, workflows, and programs Scio needs as we grow
  • Collaborate directly with the founder as a trusted right-hand, helping shape strategy, solve problems, and build the systems and programs that will define Scio as we grow
  • Grow into increasing leadership responsibility as Scio expands, with the opportunity to play a significant role in the company's long-term growth and success

This role blends health navigation, health optimization, and company building into one extraordinary opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What We're Looking For

  • NP or PA required, with a strong foundation in allopathic medicine and the confidence to navigate complex medical situations with sound clinical judgment
  • Strong functional medicine experience, with the ability to quickly step into and build upon our existing approach
  • Strong health coaching skills, including deep fluency in behavior change and an intuitive understanding of what truly gets in people's way
  • A "client whisperer" quality — someone who naturally builds trust, puts people at ease, and helps clients feel genuinely seen and supported. At the same time, you think like a provider: you critically evaluate information, ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and confidently advocate for what's best for the client.
  • Genuine curiosity about — and comfort using — AI tools and emerging health technology
  • Keen attention to detail, without losing sight of the bigger picture. You notice the small things that matter while always keeping both each client's goals and Scio's broader mission in mind
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Not required, but we’d be especially excited if you bring:
  • A business and operations mindset. You naturally build systems, improve processes, and look for better ways of doing things rather than simply executing a checklist.
  • Working knowledge of peptides and other emerging optimization strategies
You'll thrive in this role if you're someone who combines exceptional judgment with a calm, reassuring presence. You're sharp, efficient, and warm, think well on your feet, and quickly put people at ease.
